Hand Paint Sock Yarn

On the left.  I machine knit sock blanks. I did one with the yarn singled.  The other doubled (for an exact matching pair)  If you are doubling the yarn you will need to use a bulky knit machine.  What is pictured on the left are my hand painted blanks.

Sock yarn used Brown Sheep Wildfoote Ashland Bay Trading, high twist, Blue Face Leicester Wool, Merino and Bamboo Merino.  Click to Yarn and Dye for details and ordering.

Hand Dyed Mohair Locks

Off to the dye pots this week.  I have white fibers awaiting a paint job.  Check back later to see the results.  In the mean time follow the image link to see hand dyed mohair locks that already have been completed.   I also have hand dyed yarns and combed top posted, too.

Ashford Kiwi Yarn Skeiner

Handy tool for Handspinner or the Fiber Artist. Winds handspun yarn into skeins for washing, dyeing or presentation. Hand dyers use to reskein commercial spun yarns after dyeing or skeining sizes as desired before dyeing (easiest off cone yarn if that is an option). Handspinners use this tool to easily wind off their bobbins into skeins of yarn, otherwise you need to use a niddy noddy. The skein diameter is 1.5 meters (5 feet). Available in standard width and double wide.   128 teeth FINE CARD, ideal for all types of fibers.
Standard Finest has a 7″ diameter, 7 3/4″ wide working drum producing a batt approximately 7″ wide by 22″. Machine is 24″ long by 11.5″ wide.
