Hand Paint Sock Yarn

On the left.  I machine knit sock blanks. I did one with the yarn singled.  The other doubled (for an exact matching pair)  If you are doubling the yarn you will need to use a bulky knit machine.  What is pictured on the left are my hand painted blanks.

Sock yarn used Brown Sheep Wildfoote Ashland Bay Trading, high twist, Blue Face Leicester Wool, Merino and Bamboo Merino.  Click to Yarn and Dye for details and ordering.

My Wildfoote Socks

Filed under: New Things — Elizabeth @ 2:00 pm

My goal is to knit a pair in all the shades of Brown Sheep Handpaints.  I think I have one or two shades left to go.

Rocky Gorge WildfooteOne 50g skein of Brown Sheep Wildfoote Sock yarn was used for each sock.  Socks on right, I used a solid shade for the top rib, heel and toe.  For a knee sock (Women’s size 7 shoe) you have just enough yarn.    The socks on the left is the newest shade from Brown Sheep, Rocky Gorge.
